Gettin' fresh … in Northern Nevada

Pepper Plant Update

A quick update on the pepper plants.    Something is eating them and it is not me.

Ugh.

I sprinkled some cayenne pepper all around to deter further munching but I’m not sure the plants are going to make it.

This one still has a couple of leave so … there’s a chance.

Dear PEPPERMEISTER, I am sorry.   Nevada is not cooperating with the pepper challenge.

Sincerely,

  1. Sharlea,
Get your spouse to pee a liquid barrier perimeter around the pot, see if that helps. I nearly lost a pepper plant because someone dug it up and set it aside. I don’t know if it was a squirrel or the dog. No nibbling, like in other beds, just picked up and moved a few inches. It nearly died, but is getting better. Meanwhile the other peppers are already producing.

    Good luck!

    • Point taken. In the past, I have used cow blood, lion pee and every other thing that I can think of to keep the critters at bay. These desert varmits are persistent! So frustrating.

    • {sad music} … I set aside some time on Saturday to transplant/repot the one remaining pepper. Midday–some type of vermin jerk came and ate it for lunch. Mid-freakin-day. Poor peppers.
